We will take time to stop and rest in community. Each moment of stopping is critical for our greater collective healing. Making visible is a free webinar program supported by the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation, based in California, along with the Opening Heart Mindfulness Community in Washington, DC. This call includes one hour of teaching led by our expert, Sebastian, with lived experience. There will be time for mindful questions and answers and sharing, and a follow up dharma sharing call after.

All of our learning calls will be led by the people who are living the life, and doing the work.

About Sebi Medina-Tayac

Sebi Medina-Tayac has devoted his life to grassroots community organizing particularly around indigenous and environmental justice issues. Following his tour at Standing Rock in 2016, he became a field organizer for the Peoples Climate Movement, the Zero Hour Youth Climate Movement, and various other environmental justice efforts in DC. He co-founded and co-directed DC’s storied arts and activism hub, the Uptown Art House. His experiences in the movement, combined with expertise gained during his time in national advocacy and digital campaign work, inform and inspire his work at Eaton Workshop, a hub for progressive social change. As Eaton’s Impact Strategist, Sebi directs programming and partnerships that uplift the company’s social justice mission, and innovates with community partners to make DC’s social movements stronger.

Sebi is part of the Piscataway community, a state recognized tribe in Maryland. He directs the DC chapter of the International Indigenous Youth Council and is the co-founder of the Uptown Boyz, DC’s own powwow drum group. He’s also a neighborhood gardener and storyteller.
